Actual owner review 2015 Chevy City Express

Started is different post then moved here

The city express/nv200 is a useful vehicule.
It has seamlessly replaced my chevy astro. it does everything the astro did.
The most immediate way I notice es every week when I fill up....
It's hard to get $30 worth of gas in it.
With the Astro (or my full size express) it's about $70. To travel the same miles!
The astro was getting over $100 when gas was higher.......that was painful.

So far I been very happy with the van. Nippy and easy to drive. Good in snow.i was impressed.
Doors everywhere is a bonus for deliveries. Handles are odd on the sliding doors.you have to squeeze the handles to open , if you hook you fingers and pull back your fingers slip off and it hurts you hands. I added an outdoor sticker that says squeeze handle as I have various guys loading stuff.
Brakes are good, hardly notices a big load in it. And no locking up.
Navigation is Nissan, it's ok , a little annoying. but then all the factory navigation are so
'nanny proof ' I can't blame the city express for that. My old tom tom is so much easier to use....
First oil change tire rotation etc was actually free from GM as promised.
The bluetooth works good so far. The voice recognition is really annoying and I don't use it. ( the system won't shut up as you try to use it!)
The auto tire pressure monitors are rubbish, I've heard other vehicule a are the same.
They don't give a warning until the exhaust is dragging on the ground! Stupid.
Picked up van from dealer and tire pressures were 36 front 38 rear and nothing on the dash to warn me. I'm assuming the dealer did not bother to read the tag for the 44psi front 48psa rear.
Since these are such expensive tires I would like to monitor pressures carefully so they last and I get the best mpg. I had read that when somebody installed on a nv200 2013 lower rated tires the lower pressures made the warning come up all over his dash board. Not mine!
The passenger seat my wife says is painful. But went on a 2 hr road trip with somebody else and he had no problem even after I mentioned it.
I could use a tilt wheel occasionally but does not matter. Same with electric seats, I just like them.
I don't like the Chevy grill. It's too "smiley" for me. I going to try blacking it out with tape to see if it looks better. I need to park alongside a Nissan to compare too. Mine is the dark blue ink color.
Last years blue was better why did Nissan change!?
Floor mat in cargo area is really good. It grips product well when driving but also let it slide enough when loading and does not cut easy. It should be good for the $780.00 replacement cost! Tied downs are handy when needed.
Now the important stuff. The cup holder is ok , too low and a little small for a 20 oz but it fits , and there are 2. Not found a good place to put the cell phone. The bluetooth helps but we are all always grabbing the phone as we jump in and out and there's nowhere obvious to put it.
I have not used the fold down passenger seat. I thought it would have been more useful. I put stuff on the seat so can't use it.
Back up alarm and camera are good but really a gimmick . I still turn my head , way to many idiots on the roads to just use the camera and mirrors. Bring on self driving cars so I can do my thing on the road!
What else would you like to know about?
I use almost every day and am getting along fine with it.
That's the mk2 Ford in the background.

Give the Bluetooth/voice recognition another chance. Its working quite well for me. But took awhile with a little perseverence to get the address book to load.

And coming from TomTom I like the nav system.

Thanks for the review, I just bought a City Express. What kind of tires came on all of yours? I have these 'cargo America' tires that don't look very promising. From the review above, you stated the tires were 'expensive' so I'm wondering if I have the same tires, because they surely do not look expensive, actually, they look like spare/donut tires! Was wondering if anyone has different tires on theirs or what the options are??

Also, mine didn't come with wheel covers, and the way the wheel is set up, it looks like you can't put anything on there. Am I missing something, can you put a wheel cover on there? or does no one really care about appearance because it's a cargo van? I'm using mine for biking/camping/kayaking, and other outdoor adventures because it really makes a great Van for that type of thing. I'm not using it for commercial use, so I'd like to do some mods.

I think the wheel cover fit right over the rims.

Not mine, there is a Chevy centerpiece emblem that sticks out further than the rim! Why would they do that?

That should come off when you remove the tire/rim.
