Warren mangan This is not a car it was designed to be a utility van. Its not passed on a car design. it is not sold with seats like a mini van, they are doing conversions taxi use but its still a van and has the chrash rating for a van. I'm sure it shares some components but when you look at the engine is completely different on the outside from the Sentra it is also used in. It has different torque curves , shift points etc its was made to be a commercial vehicle . And its unrelated to any other small vans.

Frank Towing capacity depends on the engine's capability. I think it should be a balance on the basis of design and style of this car.

Warren mangan Hi update, I've been towing a few times well within the gvrw and have had no problems.
Even the Nissan dealer I spoke to had no worries.
Cheers warren

Warren mangan I recently posted this on the nv200 forum
I got a trailer hitch. Curt and a wiring harness from etrailer.
I was having work done on van so had them install the hitch, did wiring kit myself.
Hardest part was hiding wiring under the trim panels but was able to do a good job it's all well hidden.
It uses the European type converter box and worked right first time. Nice. Took a 2-3 hrs to do. But mainly plug and play.
Towed a small aluminum boat with some wood on top maybe a 700# load.
Keep the total GVRW well with in the limits and no issues at all
Transmission did not notice it and the van performed the same as when I had a 1500# load with no trailer.
The only reason for no trailer rating I understand is for the modified chassis for the american market.
Euro models have a tow rating. Trans is used on many other Nissans with towing capacity.

I also use the hitch socket for a bumper protector so when I get loaded with a forklift the hit it and not the tiny bumper.
FYI I have chevy city express version of the nv200.

Tow reciever

I have a tow bar fitted but not towed yet. Still need to fit the wiring harness part.
I will tow small items like a small boat or and empty trailer.
As long as I stay well under the total GVRW I'm not worried.its the same as putting 1500# in the back.
The tow capacity is zero because of the frame not the transmission. Other Nissans with the same type Trans do have towing capacity.
However.
I will be fitting a bumper extender in the receiver.
The bumper is so small and low it's useless it only holds the back up beepers.....that I don't think you get them on the NV200.
When I get loaded by a forklift I want to have SOMTHING between the bumper and the forklift see photo of Super bumper includes rubber shock absorber too.

Holla I did some looking online but I couldn't find the two capacity. I imagine that it can tow though. Probably not the best at towing that you could choose. I checked the GM website and couldn't find a tow rating in the specs.
