The Grateful Dead Express  A piece of musical history circa 1984, meet the Grateful Dead's Chevrolet van. For those of you who don't know, the Grateful Dead were one of the most successful psychedelic bands to come out of San Francisco in the middle 60's. The Chevy van would of put in just under 10 years of service before the Grateful Dead called it quits in 1995. The van features an original small block 350 V8, linked to a 4 speed auto plus overdrive. Most interestingly somewhere along the line the van was converted to use the AWD system from a Nissan Pathfinder, no word if this was at Jerry Garcia's request or not... |
