Ernest Theres nothing that can be done, its a question of semantics really. The promasters quoted volume is entirely dependent on the formula used to calculate, considering the formula differs both are correct.

I'm not saying RAM was "right" but what I am saying is that any allegations of false advertising will fall flat in court. There was no malice or intent, not to mention the company voluntarily corrected their mistakes. Thats a contrast to the Hyundai example argued earlier where Hyundai did not take ownership but were forced to alter their numbers...

bowtie If people do end up buying vehicles where false info was given what do you think the car maker will have to do? offer a buy back?

It seems like if you don't advertise the cargo capacity in the proper way in NA that would be false advertising. Maybe you are right though. It would at least be an argument that they could make in court, and I'm sure they would be able to hire some good lawyers to argue it.

technically its not false advertising actually. The quoted volume is in fact the promasters interior volume, it was a direct conversion from the euro figure. As i said in the OP NA cargo volume is calculated differently than in the EU so a direct conversion doesnt work. But they didn't lie so grounds to sue will be dismissed rather easily IMO

Holla You figure that they have to offer them something though. $100 is $100. Until the day when you can't fit that last thing into the back of the Promaster, some extra cash to help you pay for gas or whatever will be nice. False advertising doesn't make a company look good at all though.
